Not a single senatorial candidate from the ruling administration party, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP) was able to enter the Magic 12 based on absentee voting conducted for detainees/inmates in various detention facilities in the country.

Based on the results of Sunday’s canvassing for the absentee voters classified as “Persons Deprived of Liberty,” no PDP Laban senatorial bet was able to enter the winning circle which was dominated reelectionist and former senators.

PDP Laban President and reeleectionist administration bet Sen. Aquilino “Koko” III is at 14th place with 169 votes while former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go finished at no. 17 with 82.

Zajid “Dong” Mangudadatu with 34 votes (27th place) all failed to enter the winning circle.

The absentee voting was conducted to inmates who were registered voters and not yet being convicted by the court.

Former Sen. Lito Lapid was the so-called “inmates’ choice,” placing first with 292 votes followed by Sen. Cynthia Villar of the Nacionalista Party (NP) with 284.

Otso Direstso candidates reelectionist Sen. Bam Aquino (219 votes) and former Sen. Mar Roxas (177 votes) also made it in the preferred candidates of detainees, placing 8th and 12th respectively.
