Name and shame.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. has called for a shame campaign against hospitals that refuse patients amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Locsin made the proposal following the reported death of a student who was turned away by three hospitals. He said the hospitals and its officials must be investigated and punished for the incident.
“This screams for investigation and punishment. Name and shame all three hospitals and directors,” Locsin tweeted.
He was reacting to a GMA news report about a student with suspected coronavirus infection who recently died after failing to get medical treatment. Three hospitals reportedly declined to accept him for a number of reasons, including lack of equipment and room.
