Locsin: Media can only stain, not take away, a man’s honor and dignity

Foreign Affairs Teodoro Locsin Jr. told Senator Panfilo Lacson that he never lost his honor even after a newspaper published erroneous articles about him in the past.

Locsin was reacting to Lacson’s tweet on accepting the apology of the Philippine Daily Inquirer over articles accusing him of wrongdoing two decades ago. The former police chief said getting back his honor and dignity mattered a lot to him.

“Mere media does not take away anyone’s honor and dignity. These can only be lost by oneself. You never lost yours. Media can only stain one’s honor,” Locsin tweeted.

“Why journalists ‘for hire’ are shot out of hand. And the only sense of loss is for the cost of the bullet,” he said.
