Locsin takes a jab at PNoy’s tagline: ‘Kayo ang boss ko’ is ‘idiot talk’
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro “Teddyboy” Locsin Jr. isn’t a fan of former President Benigno Aquino III’s popular tagline, “Kayo ang boss ko.”
Locsin made his sentiment about the phrase known on Twitter after a netizen said the Department of Foreign Affairs should let Filipinos be aware of its response to China’s growing militarization of the South China Sea because “we are their boss.”
The feisty DFA chief responded by saying that the public is not his boss.
“You are not my boss. ‘Kayo boss ko’ is idiot talk. I have one boss, the President, whose lawful orders I carry out,” he said.
Locsin said he would’ve wanted to get advice from President Rodrigo Duterte but the Chief Executive told him after he assumed office at the DFA that he won’t hear from the President again.
“This one told me after I took my oath, ‘The ball is with you, run and play with it. You won’t hear from me again.’ I am asking him sana from time to time for advice,” he said.
Locsin earlier said the DFA has filed several diplomatic protests regarding China’s activities in the South China Sea, which includes the West Philippine Sea.
However, he stressed that there’s “no way” he would make the protests public.
