Locsin thanks Robredo for kindness: I don’t deserve it
Will the country’s top diplomat be respectful to others now?
After apologizing for his rude outburst, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. has expressed appreciation to Vice President Leni Robredo who has brushed aside his “boba” insult as nothing.
Locsin earlier triggered outrage after disrespecting Robredo when he called her stupid over her criticisms on the cancellation of the courtesy diplomatic passports. He has apologized to the veep for his rudeness.
Robredo chose to ignore Locsin’s insults, saying she does not engage in rude conversations. She said it was better to discuss vital concerns such as the Philippine Passport Act and the predicament of 22 fishermen whose boat was hit by a Chinese vessel near Recto Bank.
“I don’t deserve it, Ma’am. I thought I was doing a good deed to spare a good man from being singled out for reprisal by abolishing courtesy diplomatic passports across the board; which is rampantly abused. It’s kind of you,” Locsin said.
I think someone deleted my response. Here it is again. "I don't deserve it, Ma'am. I thought I was doing a good deed to spare a good man from being singled out for reprisal by abolishing courtesy diplomatic passports across the board; which is rampantly abused. It's kind of you." https://t.co/6ypx2iY8pE— Teddy Locsin Jr. (@teddyboylocsin) June 25, 2019
