President Rodrigo Duterte received Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi in a courtesy call on Wednesday.

Duterte discussed “matters” with Al-Muraikhi, said Malacañang.

They provided no further details on the meeting.

In April 2017, Duterte visited Qatar when he embarked on a three-nation Middle East trip that also brought him to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

The two nations signed agreements on culture, investment, technical education cooperation, and health during the President’s visit.

Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Qatar were established in May 1981.
