LOOK: Duterte receives India’s Ram Nath Kovind in Malacañang

President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday welcomed Indian President Ram Nath Kovind in a ceremony at the Malacañang Palace for his five-day state visit to the Philippines.

Kovind arrived in the presidential palace at 3:30 p.m. where he was given arrival honors.

Before going to Malacañang, he paid homage to hero Dr. José Rizal and laid a wreath at Rizal monument, Rizal Park in Manila.

Kovind is scheduled to meet with liver transplant patients and the beneficiaries of the Mahaveer Philippines Foundation tomorrow, October 19.

He will also attend the Philippine-India Business Conclave and 4th ASEAN-India Business Summit to be held at Shangri-la Hotel in Makati.

On Sunday, Kovind will attend the installation of the Mahatma Gandhi Bust at Miriam College in Quezon City and will meet with the Indian community in Bonifacio Global City.

The Indian president will depart for Tokyo, Japan on the following day.
