LOOK: Duterte visits wake of UP Sigma Rho fratman tagged in hazing scandal

President Rodrigo Duterte visited Monday (September 30) the wake of the Sigma Rho fraternity member linked to the controversy involving the group’s hazing of neophytes at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Photos shared by Senator Bong Go, who was with Duterte during the visit, showed the President talking to the parents of Ignacio “Nacho” Domingo.

Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo is Nacho’s father.

Duterte’s visit to Nacho’s wake happened without media fanfare.

Nacho’s body was found inside the family’s home on September 28.

Leaked conversations allegedly between Sigma Rho members showed someone who looked like Nacho holding a paddle.

The object was supposedly used in hazing rites.

Nacho resigned as vice president of the UP College of Mass Communication Student Council in the wake of the controversy.

A statement by UP Diliman Michael Tan confirmed that a member of the Sigma Rho fraternity died but it did not identify the victim or cause of death.
