LOOK: Galante! Duterte gives cash, watches to wounded soldiers in Sulu

LOOK: President Rodrigo Duterte checked on Monday the condition of 14 wounded government soldiers in Sulu at Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital.

The troops were wounded following a clash with the Abu Sayaff Group in Patikul town.

Duterte awarded the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the rank of Kampilan to 14 wounded soldiers.

He also provided them cash assistance, cellphones, watches, and gun certificates.

In Sulu, the President also led the ceremonial distribution of .45 caliber pistols to 10 troops deployed in the province.

The Joint Task Force Sulu received a total of 2,883 pistols for the Philippine Army and another 250 pistols for the Philippine Marines.

Duterte assured the armed forces personnel of their welfare and that of their families.
