The bible of Philippine politics

LOOK: Party like there’s no tomorrow! Sara Duterte, GMA, Enrile join Imee Marcos’ birthday celebration

Some of the biggest names in Philippine politics took time off from their busy schedules Friday (November 9) to celebrate Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos’ 63rd birthday at their old house in San Juan City.

Seated in one table at Imee’s party were political heavyweights such as Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, and Solicitor General Jose Calida.

Imee’s mother, former First Lady and now Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos, was also in attendance at her birthday celebration.

Earlier that day, the elder Marcos was convicted by the Sandiganbayan of graft over her alleged financial interests in foundations based in Switzerland when she was Minister of Human Settlements and an interim member of Congress during the presidency of her husband, Ferdinand Marcos.

The governor’s siblings, Irene and Ferdinand Jr. or Bongbong, were likewise at the party.

Imee is running for senator in the 2019 elections.
