President Rodrigo Duterte became the clueless victim of an embarrassing gaffe Friday (July 14) as he made a speech on a rostrum where the presidential seal was turned upside down.
Media outfits, including Malacañang’s own RTVM, caught videos of the presidential seal with the phrase, “Sagisag ng Pangulo ng Pilipinas,” at the bottom. The three stars representing the island groups of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao were placed above instead.
The President appeared oblivious to the error as he addressed the delegates of the 11th Ambassador’s Tour Philippine Reception in Davao City.
Meanwhile, RTVM streamed the erroneous footage for a few minutes before switching to a tight shot of Duterte without the presidential seal in the frame.
Given the embarrassing mistake, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if some Palace official lands in hot water over it.
