The bible of Philippine politics

Lumalaban! Francis Tolentino inches closer to ‘Magic 12’, beats attention-hogging Bong Go in rankings

Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs Francis Tolentino has a real shot at becoming a senator in 2019, according to a commissioned survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations.

Results of the survey obtained by Politiko showed Tolentino in 15th place, just a few places behind Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos and former senator Sergio Osmeña III, who are tied for the 11th to 12th place.

Re-electionist Senators Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV and JV Ejercito are ranked 13th and 14th place, respectively.

Tolentino fared better in the survey than Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, who is trying hard to court votes by appearing wherever he’s invited and helping people for the cameras.

While the former Metro Manila Development Authority chairman has yet to announce his political plans, he has been endorsed by Duterte as someone who will make a good senator.

Tolentino ran in 2013 for the Senate but lost, placing 13th in the race.

SWS conducted the commissioned survey from September 15 to 23.
