Lynda Jumilla finds Cayetano couple’s candidacies odd: They live in separate houses?
ABS-CBN reporter and anchor Lynda Jumilla is weirded out by the decision of former Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano and his wife, Lani, to both run for Congress in the 2019 elections.
In a tweet posted Wednesday (October 17), Jumilla asked if Alan and Lani lived in separate houses because they are running for two separate districts.
Alan is running for congressman of Taguig’s first district while Lani, the incumbent city mayor, wants to represent the second district.
“Er… they live in separate houses? Or house so big it straddles 2 congressional districts?” Jumilla tweeted.
Her post was accompanied with a link to ABS-CBN News’ article about the Cayetano couple’s candidacies.
In an interview over ANC’s “Headstart” on the same day, Alan said it will be better if their family controls Taguig City.
“The Bible says, ‘A house divided will fall,’” he said. “The reality of the dynamics on the ground is that ‘pag magkalaban kayo, the city suffers.”
“You have to understand the dynamics. Ang kalaban namin sa first district, yung pa-mayor at congressman, magkapatid. ‘Yung kalaban namin sa second district, mag-ama,” Cayetano explained.
