Magdalo Party-list Rep. Manuel Cabochan III has urged the Supreme Court acting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) to finalize the deliberation on the 2016 vice presidential electoral protest.
Cabochan warned that delays not only raise concerns to the parties involved but also to the Filipino public.
The PET on Tuesday once again deferred voting on whether or not to proceed with the electoral protest filed by former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. against Vice President Leni Robredo.
Cabochan stressed that PET should already decide over the matter and “put an end on the speculations that only tarnish the integrity of the 2016 elections, and thereby our democratic institutions.”
Cabochan said their group is confident that Robredo will remain the vice president after the protest is finally concluded.
“The Magdalo Party-List stands by on the truth and will of the Filipino people. We stand in solidarity with Vice President Leni Robredo,” said Cabochan.
