For Vice President Leni Robredo, President Rodrigo Duterte once again screwed up with his latest tirade on priests.
Robredo, in a chance interview with reporters Saturday (January 21) in Barangay Sabang, Calabanga, Camarines Sur, claimed that Duterte’s renewed attacks on the clergy doesn’t help the country at all.
“Iyong comment laban sa mga kaparian hindi ito nakakatulong dahil nag-cecreate ito ng animosity between the government and the Catholic Church,” she said.
Robredo, a former Camarines Sur representative, underscored the importance of respecting different denominations of faith while at the same time finding ways to work together.
Robredo, a Liberal Party (LP) member, has become more and more critical of President Duterte following her resignation from the Cabinet last December as Housing Czar.
