Gabriela party-list group on Sunday urged President Rodrigo Duterte to resign after admitting molesting a family maid during his puberty days.
In a statement, the group described Duterte as “maniac in Malacañang” who has only “proven he has no qualms in violating the right of woman.”
“It is deeply disturbing that even for Duterte to brag about attempting to rape a maid when he was a minor,” the statement read.
Gabriela further stressed that Duterte “has proven himself unworthy of his position and should resign” after issuing a disturbing statement.
“This latest confession has brought shame not only on himself but on the entire nation that trusted himself to lead judiciously and righteously,” the statement read.
