Mar formally asks Leni to be his VP. Did she say yes?
Former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas has formally asked Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo to become his running mate in the 2016 elections.
Robredo said Roxas called her on Thursday (Sept. 17) to offer her the position of being the Liberal Party’s vice presidential candidate.
The widow of former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo, however, said she has yet to make a decision about Roxas’ offer.
Photos shared by Roxas’ close friend and ally, YACAP party-list Rep. Carol Jayne Lopez, showed the administration standard bearer and Robredo together in Naga City on Friday (Sept. 18).
One photo showed the two LP politikos being prayed over by Archbishop Rolly Tirona after a meeting.
Robredo has reportedly sought the prelate’s guidance on whether or not she should run for a higher post.
The lawmaker has said in earlier interviews that she wasn’t keen on becoming vice president because she believes there are other politikos who are more qualified for the position.
