‘Marangal at propesyonal ang PNP’: Palace says only a few police are ‘bad apples’
By Prince Golez
There are just a few “bad apples” who spoil the image of the police force, Malacañang said Tuesday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the statement in light of the murder of a 15-year-old girl in Ilocos Sur who earlier accused police officers of rape.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is still “honorable” and “professional” by and large, Roque said during a virtual presser aired on state-run PTV-4.
Meanwhile, the Palace official assured that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will conduct an impartial investigation on the case.
The PNP has filed murder charges against Staff Sergeants Randy Ramos and Marawi Torda of the San Juan Municipal Police Station in Ilocos Sur.
They are currently detained at the Ilocos Regional Police Office at Camp Florendo in San Fernando City.
