Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said the Supreme Court (SC) sitting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) is very interested to know the real results of the 2016 vice presidential elections.
Marcos said this was the reason why the PET pushed through with the preliminary conference of his election protest Tuesday (July 11).
“We’re happy to see na tuloy tuloy na ang proseso,” he said.
“Kaya nagpapasalamat kami sa mga justice na para sa kanila interesado din sila na mapabilis ang proseso nang makita ng ating mga kabayayan ang naging bilang sa boto,” Marcos added.
Marcos filed the protest as he insisted he should have won the 2016 elections instead of Vice President Leni Robredo.
Also on Tuesday, Marcos paid P30 million before the PET which is the last tranche of the P66 million being required from him to pay for his election protest.
