Marjorie Barretto thanks Duterte, says sorry for getting caught in family drama
Marjorie Barretto had nothing but thanks to say to President Rodrigo Duterte, amid reports that he had to step in and referee between warring sisters in the family.
The once Caloocan councilor asked for calm and privacy as she and the rest of the Barretto clan mourned the death of their father, Miguel Barretto.
It was reported that sisters Marjorie, Gretchen, and Claudine were involved in a scuffle right in the middle of their dad’s wake, with the visiting Duterte forced to step in between and break up the fight.
“To our dear President Duterte, thank you for being there for the family and sharing in our grief. My apologies that your name was dragged into this. You were so kind to me. I will always be grateful,” Marjorie said.
As for her sisters, she had some vitriol to share.
“There are very disturbing news going around right now. All these years, I have kept my peace and I always chose to ignore all the LIES that my sisters spread about me and my children. But nothing can get lower than this,” Marjorie said about Gretchen and Claudine, the latter claiming to have been hospitalized due to a fight turned physical. “Giving false statements to the press, and twisting stories about what really happened in my Father’s wake is by far the most epic one.”
Her promise: she will spill the tea once her dad is laid to rest.
“May I request everyone to allow our family to grieve, it’s our last day with our Father today. Please hold your judgement and opinions until he is laid to rest, then WE WILL FOR THE FIRST TIME SPEAK THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH,” she said, asking for prayers for now.
