Ethel Booba is curious if there will be enough public utility vehicles (PUVs) for workers exempted from the curfew recommended by Metro Manila mayors due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a tweet posted Saturday (March 14), Booba said: “I don’t know yet if may sagot na dito pero itatanong ko na din.”

“If 8PM to 5AM ang curfew at pwede pa din lumabas ang may mga work sa gabi, may enough kaya na public transpo para sa mga papasok at uuwi galing sa trabaho?” she asked.

Booba said PUV drivers may not ply their routes if there are not enough passengers.

“If wala masyado pasahero baka di masyado bumyahe. Charot!” she said.

The Metro Manila Council, which is composed of all 17 mayors of local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila, passed an ordinance Saturday recommending the enforcement of a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as part of the community quarantine declared by President Rodrigo Duterte.

However, the Department of Interior and Local Government clarified that LGUs need to pass an ordinance for the enforcement of the COVID-19 related curfew before it can be implemented.
