The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) will interview this Wednesday (September 26) the candidates seeking to fill the seat left open by Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
The JBC made the reminder in a post on its official Twitter account on Tuesday (September 25).
There are 13 candidates who will be interviewed, namely, SC Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez; Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justices Oscar Badelles, Manuel Barrios, Apolinario Bruselas, Jr., Rosmari Carandang, Stephen Cruz, Japar Dimaampao, Amy Lazaro-Javier, Ramon Garcia, Edgardo Delos Santos, Ramon Paul Hernando, and Mario Lopez; and Tagum City Judge Virginia Tejano-Ang.
“The public may submit a sworn complaint, report, or opposition against any of the aforesaid candidates,” the JBC said.
Martires, a schoolmate of Duterte at the San Beda College law school, was the President’s first appointee at the SC.
Martires, who got names as SC justice last March, was supposed to retire from the high tribunal next January but got appointed as ombudsman by Duterte.
