The Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) of Malvar-Balete, Batangas has been ordered temporarily closed for 14 days after one of its employees caught the COVID-19 virus, the Supreme Court (SC) said on Friday (Aug. 14).

“Malvar-Balete, Batangas MCTC physically closed from August 14 to 28, 2020,” read the latest Twitter post of the SC Public Information Office (SCPIO).

The SCPIO said MCTC Executive Judge Charito Macalintal-Sawali issued the order on Friday.

In her directive, Sawali cited that the move was made after “a court personnel was tested positive of Covid-19.”

“During this period, all personnel and the acting presiding justice of the court shall self-quarantine and undergo Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) swab test the results of which shall be reported immediately to the undersigned,” said the magistrated.
