MECQ in NCR, nearby provinces a step in the right direction, says Palace spox

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said he believes the government was moving in the right direction when it placed Metro Manila and neighboring provinces back to modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), Malacañang said Monday.
On August 2, President Rodrigo Duterte reverted the National Capital Region and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal to MECQ effective August 4, in response to the medical frontliners’ call for a “timeout” amid rising coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the country.
A reversion to MECQ, according to him, can help bring down the reproduction rate of Covid-19.
