Former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo has asked the Sandiganbayan 7th Division to permit him to travel to Japan and Hong Kong.
Though he did not state the reason, Arroyo informed the court he planned to travel from December 26, 2017 up to January 5, 2018.
In his motion to travel, Arroyo reminded the court it already granted his past travels abroad.
“Accused-movant humbly submits that, while facing charges before this Honorable Court, he continuously enjoys the right to be presumed innocent until proven otherwise,” he said.
“Hence, as such, he likewise enjoys the constitutional right to travel, subject to the restrictions of law,” he added.
Arroyo is facing graft charges over the alleged anomalous 20090 purchase of helicopters of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
