The 2017 Miss Universe pageant may not have been held in the Philippines, but Filipinos will still have the chance to see its winner in person.
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) announced Sunday that Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters will be coming to the Philippines.
The date of her stay, however, has yet to be announced.
Joining Nel-Peters in her trip are Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere and some of the pageant contestants.
There’s speculation that the Department of Tourism will foot the bill for the beauty queens’ visit since it figured prominently in MUO’s announcement.
“They’re (beauty queens) looking forward to the incredible hospitality of Department of Tourism-Philippines @tourism_phl, seeing some of the 7,107 islands, being part of DOT’s Women of Significance Gala Night and the #MissUniverse fashion show,” the announcement read.
The 2016 Miss Universe pageant was held in Manila last January.
