Mission accomplished! BI tracks down kin of Chinese man with Wuhan coronavirus
Justice Secretary Mernado Guevarra on Thursday (Jan. 23) said the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has found the family of a Chinese man infected with the coronavirus.
“Na-tracked down na ng BI,” he said.
The Secretary said the BI is currently “monitoring their movements and may refer them to BoQ (Bureau of Quarantine).”
The Hong Kong Ministry of Health said the Chinese man, who hails from Wuhan, China, entered Hong Kong via speed train last Tuesday (Jan. 21).
He was stopped at the border after he was detected of having fever and was confirmed to be the first case of the coronavirus strain in Hong Kong.
However, the Hong Kong Ministry of Health said his family managed to get a flight to Manila via Cebu Pacific and arrived on Wednesday (Jan. 22).
