Mocha Uson and Bruce Rivera vehemently objected to being called trolls by former Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Winnie Monsod during their interview on her weekly TV program, “Bawal Ang Pasaway.”
Uson, a member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), and Rivera, a lawyer of pork barrel queen Janet Lim Napoles, are the leading rah-rah team of President Rodrigo Duterte on Facebook and Twitter.
During the hour-long, pre-taped program, Monsod pint-blank told Uson and Rivera: “You are considered trolls.”
Rivera and Uson were quick to object to being lumped among the hundreds of anonymous internet users who get a kick out of bombarding social media with their incendiary and off-topic comments to annoy or disturb online communities against Duterte.
“We have a face, madam. They know our address. We are not trolls madam,” said Rivera.
“Ang mga trolls walang pangalan,” said Uson.
While Uson was proud to be the leader of the Die-hard Duterte Supporters, the president’s vast army on social media, Rivera refused to be classified as part that group.
“We are not die-hard Duterte supporters, we are Filipinos,” said Rivera.
While they accused the opposition specifically Vice President Leni Robredo of employing trolls to attack the President, they claimed ignorance on whether Duterte himself had paid trolls. “We don’t know that as a matter of fact,” said Rivera.
