Medialdea denies Duterte fired Mocha Uson

Malacañang has denied a report that Mocha Uson was axed from her job as communications assistant secretary.
In a text message, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea clarified that President Rodrigo Duterte did not fire dancer turned blogger Uson.
“Not true. She resigned,” Medialdea said.
During a Senate hearing on October 3, Uson announced her resignation so the proposed 2019 budget for the Presidential Communications Operations Office could be passed.
“The recent events have put me in a position where I am being held responsible for Congress withholding the 2019 PCOO budget. I do not wish to cause such burden to the office, hence I am hereby notifying you of my resignation effective 1 October 2019,” her resignation letter read.
Uson recently drew flak from Filipinos online after she posted a video showing fellow blogger Drew Oliver dancing and chanting, “I-pepe, i-pepe, i-dede, i-dede, i-pe, i-de, i-pederalismo!”
The duo was also criticized for making fun of deaf people.
