Special envoy to China Mon Tulfo likened Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista to a leader of a kidnap for ransom gang after he demanded that his brother Erwin fork out least P5 million to Philippine Military Academy (PMA) groups as part of Erwin’s apology.
Erwin insulted Bautista for snubbing his interview requests and the ex-general and his fellow PMAyers have hit back by withdrawing police escorts of Erwin and his brothers (Mon, Raffy, and Ben) and confiscating his firearms. the PMA alumni has likewise declared Erwin persona non grata.
Bautista has demanded that pay Erwin pay P300,000 to 19 organizations he would name which Mon felt was too much.

“That would amount to P5 million! If the news reports are true, I can only say ‘Wow!!’ Bautista reminds me of kidnap-for-ransom gangs. If he didn’t make it to the PMA, like this mathematics-dumb columnist, he would have ended up as a leader of a kidnap-for-ransom gang,” said Mon in his Manila Times column. .
“Yes, Erwin made a mistake, but did he kill a military or police general that he cannot be forgiven? What happened to your sense of humanity, which you were apparently taught at the PMA as a cadet, Mr. Secretary?” he added.
