Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento said on Monday (April 5) that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed a murder complaint against a doctor over the killing of retired Court of Appeals (CA) Justice Normandie Pizarro.
“The case of late Justice Pizarro was assigned to ASP (Assistant State Prosecutor) Mike Humarang and APA (Assistant Prosecution Attorney) Grace Arboladura,” he said.
Malcontento said the prosecutors have yet to set when they will start conducting the preliminary investigation of the complaint, which named as respondent Dr. Ramon Pangan.
Pizarro’s family had reported the magistrate missing since Oct. 23.
In its search, the NBI managed to find a dead body in Capas, Tarlac last Oct. 30.
But it was only last December that the NBI was able to confirm that the remains were that of Pizarro following DNA analysis.
