My lips are sealed: Junjun Binay doesn’t enter plea in overpriced carpark case


Former Makati City mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay Jr. refused to enter a plea before the Sandiganbayan 3rd Division concerning the alleged overpriced construction of a parking building worth P2.2 billion.

Instead, the anti-graft court entered on his behalf a not guilty plea during his arraignment last Dec. 7.

The former mayor and his dad, former vice president Jejomar Binay are facing charges concerning the car park building.

The former vice president has been charged with nine counts of falsification of public documents, four counts of graft and one count of malversation.

While, the former vice mayor is charged with two counts of graft, six counts of falsification, two counts of graft and one count of malversation.

Under the charges, they are accused in conspiring with local officials in the rigged bidding of the phases of the P2.28 billion construction project from 2011 to 2013.
