Nakaabang na! Colmenares to file charges vs. Duterte after term ends
Bayan Muna party-list chairman and former representative Neri Colmenares has vowed to file charges against President Rodrigo Duterte after the chief executive’s term ends in 2022.
“There will be hell to pay once President Duterte steps down from office in 2022,” Colmenares told reporters on Tuesday (Nov. 12).
Colmenares gave his word in response to the administration’s continued filing of trumped up charges against the critics of Duterte.
Colmenares himself is facing before the Department of Justice (DOJ) a criminal complaint filed by Relisa Lucena and the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) concerning the disappearance of her daughter Alicia.
In the complaint, Colmenares and his co-respondents are accused of kidnapping and violated the the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003; Special Protection of Children in Situations of Armed Conflict; Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act; and the the Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and Other Crimes Against Humanity.
Lucena said her minor daughter Alicia, a student of Far Eastern University, has left home to join Anakbayan without the consent of her parents.
Meanwhile, Assistant State Prosecutor Christine Perolino who is handling the case has submitted it for resolution also on Tuesday after the respondents submitted their respective rejoinders.
