No shortcuts.

With the start of the New Year, Senator Nancy Binay is hoping Filipinos will not follow those who believe they are above the law.

Binay took to Facebook to voice her New Year’s wish about the need to bring back the “essential values as a nation of laws.”

“This 2021, let’s take some small steps towards bringing back our essential values as a nation of laws, and hopefully set the foundation for more meaningful change in the years ahead,” he said.

Binay also cautioned against emulating those who break the law and are “beyond reproach.” She said the country’s laws must be followed.

“As we strive to fully adjust to the new normal, i cannot stress enough how important it is to follow laws, policies, regulations — walang shortcut. Wag na nating gayahin yung ibang harap-harapang sinusuway ang batas, who are beyond reproach and reckoning, and who brags in a way saying that they are above the law,” she said.

In an earlier tweet, Binay wrote down three New Year’s resolutions that she hopes people will consider.
These are respect for due process, return of delicadeza and palabra de honor, and value for life.

“New Year’s reso sana all 🌚,” she said.

“1. Pagsunod sa tamang proseso. Tigilan na ang pag short cut sa ating mga gawain.

  1. Bring back time honored Filipino values like delikadeza & palabra de honor
  2. Pagpapahalaga sa buhay ng tao ❤,” she added.
