Despite the calamities that hit the country, Sen. Nancy Binay remained optimistic that the Filipino resiliency would prevail anew especially those who were victims of Typhoons Vinta and Urduja.
“We Filipinos were challenged by the past year 2017. But like the bamboo that sways with the fiercest winds, we Filipinos survived and soldiered on,” she said.
The chair of the Senate committee on social justice, welfare and rural development urged local government units to prioritize the rebuilding of the areas affected by the onslaught of the recent typhoons.
“May the merrymaking ushered by the start of the New Year 2018 stay forever in our hearts and turn sadness into joy and happiness throughout the year,” Binay said.
