Napilitan lang ako! Niña Taduran reveals Erwin Tulfo should’ve been ACT-CIS’ 3rd nominee
Broadcaster Erwin Tulfo could have been a congressman now if he agreed to become the third nominee of ACT-CIS party-list.
Tulfo’s former radio show partner, Niña Taduran, revealed Thursday (May 23) that she was just asked to take Tulfo’s place in the party-list as its third nominee.
Taduran is officially a congresswoman-elect after ACT-CIS won three seats in the party-list race.
“Dapat hindi talaga ako,” the former broadcaster told CNN Philippines anchor Pinky Webb on The Source.
“The position is for Erwin Tulfo talaga. But he begged off. Sabi niya siguro hindi pa napapanahon,” Taduran added.
The former broadcaster admitted she reluctantly accepted the offer of becoming ACT-CIS’ third nominee because it meant resigning from her radio show.
“Twenty-nine years ako sa broadcasting, 20 years sa public service show namin. So parang sabi ko it’s an ultimate sacrifice for me. Parang sila ang nagdesisyon for me,” she said of Tulfo and businessman Eric Yap, the party-list’s first nominee.
Awareness about ACT-CIS rose during the campaign period with Tulfo’s appearance in its commercials. The group topped the party-list race.
ACT-CIS’ second nominee, who is also now a Congresswoman-elect, is Tulfo’s wife Jocelyn.
