Nasaan ang P60M? Agot Isidro reminds Ben Tulfo of DOT scandal in defense of Regine Velasquez
Agot Isidro has revived online discussion about the controversy involving the Department of Tourism and Tulfo siblings after broadcaster Ben Tulfo insulted Regine Velasquez over a tweet.
Isidro asked Tulfo on Twitter what happened to the P60 million his company received as payment from the Department of Tourism (DOT) when his sister, Wanda Tulfo Teo, was the Tourism Secretary.
“Isa pa itong walang kwentang hanash. Matanong lang. Nasaan na po ang 60M???” she tweeted Wednesday (April 24).
A Commission on Audit report found that Bitag Media Unlimited Inc., Tulfo’s company which produces “Kilos Pronto,” got 75 percent of the P120-million contract that the DOT sealed with state-run PTV-4.
However, only P60 million had been paid to Tulfo’s company when the COA released results of its audit last year. State auditors have asked the Tulfos to return the money but they have yet to comply with the order.
Tulfo insulted Velasquez in a Facebook Live video for speaking up on China’s clam poaching in the West Philippine Sea.
The broadcaster told Velasquez to focus on her career instead of commenting on issues she might not be well versed on.
Velasquez earlier expressed her dismay at Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro “Teddyboy” Locsin Jr. through Twitter for downplaying China’s poaching of clams in the West Philippine Sea.
