Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG) chairman Chel Diokno on Monday (March 30) urged the public to scrutinize how the government is spending its national budget to fight the deadly 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19).
Among the things the public should consider, Diokno said Filipinos should ask if the government has streamlined the accreditation of test kits and if it has ensured the continues distribution of medicines and food for those who are quarantined.
Diokno said the public should also scrutinize whether the government is giving enough help to frontliners incuding the quick distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) and providing them with the needed facilities including temporary housing and quarantine centers.
