NBI: Gunmen in Manila prosecutor’s killing used fake plate numbers
Supects behind the killing of Manila Senior Assistant City Prosecutor Jovencio Senados were found to have used fake plates for their two vehicles, National Bureau of Investigation-National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) Regional Director Cesar Bacani said on Saturday (Aug. 8).
“Parehong hindi yon ang mga plaka ng dalawang sasakyan,” he disclosed.
Senados was gunned on July 7 along Quirino Highway in Manila by unidentified gunmen who were on board two vehicles.
Following the shooting, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra immediately issued an order for the NBI to conduct an investigation into the killing.
The two vehicles used in the ambush was a black Mitsubishi Montero and a red Toyota Innova.
Investigators was able to get first the plate number of the Montero based on closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras around the crime scene.
Since Senados was found to have been tailed from Laguna, investigators eventually discovered the plate number of the Innova based from other CCTV footages.
