New UNICEF goodwill envoy Anne Curtis: Children should be our priority
New UNICEF national goodwill ambassador Anne Curtis has pledged to promote the welfare of children, including batting for their immunization from diseases.
Curtis has been named UNICEF envoy during a recent ceremony, saying it was “great honor” to take on the appointment.
“Very excited, determined to learn and properly educating myself with issues that the Filipino youth face today,” she tweeted.
“I am honored and committed to raising awareness on the issues and rights of children. Children should be our priority and it is our collective responsibility to ensure they have a bright future ahead of them. There is still much more to be done,” she added.
She also seized the chance to call on parents to have their kids vaccinated to fight diseases following the measles outbreak in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
“It is important to have proper immunization and dealing with the parents and healthcare workers and centers,” the Kapamilya star said.
“It should be a priority because I understand that a lot of children are getting affected by the measles outbreak,” she added.
