President Rodrigo Duterte is not keen on reappointing dismissed corrections chief Nicanor Faeldon to another government post.

“No, I don’t think so. He has had enough of controversies in the last few years. But I still believe… I do not believe that he is dishonest,” said Duterte in a recent interview with GMA News.

Last Wednesday, Duterte fired Faeldon after the latter allowed the early release of heinous crime convicts for supposed good behavior.

The former BuCor chief disobeyed his order about the release of inmates under the Good Conduct Time Allowance law, said the President.

Prior his stint in the Bureau of Corrections, Faeldon served as commissioner of the Bureau of Customs and deputy administrator of the Office of Civil Defense.
