No public funds used in Germany trip – Robredo camp
Vice President Leni Robredo did not spend taxpayers’ money to finance her recent visit to Germany, her camp clarified on Facebook.
“Vice President Leni Robredo’s recent working visit to Berlin, Germany was fully financed by Friedrich Naumann Foundation. Contrary to the fake news spreading online that this was ‘paid for by the Republic of the Philippines,’ no amount was charged to the Philippine government,” the VP’s Facebook post read.
“Let us be critical and vigilant against false information posted online and offline,” it added.
Robredo and other government officials were reportedly invited by FNF to a “study visit program” in Berlin on sharing solutions to poverty alleviation and social justice.
Included in the delegation were Senator Francis Pangilinan, Marikina Rep. Miro Quimbo, Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat Jr., Dinagat Islands Rep. Kaka Bag-ao, and former Budget Secretary Butch Abad.
