Politiko scion Jake Ejercito has appealed to government officials to put aside personal interests and act on the bills seeking to renew the franchise of ABS-CBN television network.

Ejercito, son of former President Joseph Estrada, slammed politicians who “sickeningly” serve President Duterte instead of public interest.

“ABS-CBN’s been ‘in the service of the Filipino’ while a number of our officials are sickeningly only in the service of the president. Detach personal vendettas/interests from your public service, good sirs #NoToABSCBNShutDown,” he tweeted.

The proposed ABS-CBN franchise renewal bills have been collecting dust in Congress following Duterte’s vocal opposition to the move. The Office of the Solicitor General also filed a petition asking Supreme Court to invalidate Channel 2’s franchise for supposed violations of the law.
