Nograles on total lockdown scenario in Luzon: ‘Wala sa vocabulary namin’

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on the coronavirus pandemic has ruled out the possibility of imposing a total lockdown amid the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
In a total lockdown, all public establishments, including supermarkets and wet markets, shall be closed down.
“Wala kasi sa vocabulary namin yung total lockdown,” according to IATF spokesman and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.
“Even ang discipline namin sa IATF is quarantine, community quarantine, modified or enhanced or general community quarantine. We never use yung lockdown,” Nograles said during his online press conference Tuesday.
Palace Spokesman Harry Roque had said that the government will consider a total lockdown should the number of confirmed cases continue to grow.
As of yesterday afternoon, the Department of Health reported a total of 6,459 Covid-19 cases, with 428 fatalities and 613 recoveries.
