Nograles: Only proof of salary needed to avail of DOLE cash aid

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is no longer requiring employers availing of financial assistance for workers affected by the coronavirus (Covid-19) lockdown to submit company payroll, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) said.

On Wednesday, IATF spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles cited Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III that any proof of payment of salaries and wages will do.

Bello earlier said that workers displaced by the Covid-19 crisis will get P5,000 one-time cash assistance.

“Sec. Bello also announced that the DOLE is no longer strictly requiring the submission of the company payroll in the establishment report. Any proof of payment of salaries and wages will be sufficient compliance with the requirement,” Nograles said during his press briefing.

A total of 139,003 regular and non-regular formal workers affected by the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon have benefitted from the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program, the department said.
