NUPL chair wants Bikoy, backers charged with perjury
The camp of former Bayan Muna Representative believes karma will soon catch up with Peter Joemel Advincula alias Bikoy and those behind him should for filing the sedition complaint against him and other members of the opposition.
“In time, these unscrupulous creatures will reap what they sow. They should be charged accordingly for perjury, malicious prosecution and bad acting,” said the National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers (NUPL) which is chaired by Colmenares.
Colmenares and 35 others including members of the opposition are facing before the Department of Justice (DOJ) a sedition complaint filed by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).
In its complaint, the PNP-CIDG accused the respondents of sedition, inciting to sedition, cyber libel, libel, estafa, harboring a criminal, and obstruction of justice.
The case is in connection with the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos which has defamed Duterte family members as being involved the narcotics trade.
Advincula, who revealed himself to be the hooded Bikoy in the videos, claimed that members of the opposition were behind the videos meant to discredit and destabilize the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.
“The criminal complaint filed by a shady character, aided and abetted by unabashedly partisan forces, is pure and unadulterated hogwash,” the NUPL stated.
“For any body to lend it perfunctory consideration is a waste of time, money, resources, if not brain neurons,” it stressed.
