It’s not your fault Kiko.

The eight Otso Diretso senatorial candidates lost in the midterm elections because of the negative criticisms on President Duterte’s war on drugs, said Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr.

Locsin agreed with Vice President Leni Robredo’s view that Senator Kiko Pangilinan and Quezon City Rep. Kit Belmonte’s should not be blamed for the crushing defeat of the opposition ticket.

Pangilinan and Belmonte have offered to resign as Liberal Party’s (LP) president and secretary general, respectively, but Robredo rejected their resignation.

“I believe you. It was the fault of the campaign platform: negativism on exterminating drug dealing—the most popular and populist program today. You cannot be nambypamby about fighting the drug trade to its death—and expect to be voted for by anybody,” Locsin tweeted, reacting to a news story on Robredo’s view on the poll defeat.
