The government is studying the possibility of providing a third round of cash aid for jeepney drivers who have been out of work since the implementation of the community quarantine in the country.

“Pinag-aaralan na bigyan ng pangatlong buwang ayuda ang mga jeepney drivers na nawalan ng hanapbuhay dahil hindi pa pinapayagan na bumyahe ang ating mga jeepneys,” Palace Spokesman Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Thursday.

“Ito ay manggagaling pa rin sa Bayanihan to Heal as One Act,” added Roque.

Traditional jeepneys are still prohibited from operating under the general community quarantine.

Public utility buses, modern public utility vehicles, and UV Express are also banned from plying the roads of Metro Manila despite its transition to a more relaxed quarantine measure.
