The project, considered as the country’s biggest irrigation project is an integral part of the Agno River Integrated Irrigation Project (ARIIP). Built at a total project cost of P 3.45 billion, the re-regulating pond project was financed by the China Exim-Bank under its Buyers Credit Facilities. The project will store water releases from San Roque Dam during its peak power generation to be utilized for irrigation.
