Malacanang said it would wait for the report on the arrest of the man who allegedly uploaded the series of videos linking the Duterte family to the illagel drug trade.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has yet to release a report on the alleged uploader of the viral “Ang Totoong Narco List” videos.
“Wala pa nga eh. Until such time, we cannot make any response we have to get a report, officially. Hindi pa (na inform) as far as I know,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo on Thursday.
“I cannot make any response. First, hindi natin alam kung sino ang sinasabi nilang inaresto, whether yung Bikoy or somebody who just uploaded the video. What I read sa news, yung nag-upload, not necessary yung Bikoy. Hindi natin alam,” added Panelo.
In a media briefing, the chief presidential legal counsel said President Rodrigo Duterte doesn’t have to instruct any agency to file any case against any violator of the law.
“The NBI apparently is investigating it. The PNP is investigating it. So if they discover anything that will fall as a violation of the Revised Penal Code, that is a different story,” said Panelo.
“It is the duty of the law enforcement agencies to file cases against violators of the law,” he added.
